'Way-back in 1963, Stan Beaver went into RCA's famed "Studio B" in Nashville, TN. and recorded, what has since become, a cult CLASSIC. The song was called:
"I GOT A ROCKET IN MY POCKET"
Musicians Boots Randolph (sax), Wayne Moss (lead guitar), "Lightnin'" Chance (bass), "Pig" Robbins (piano), Jack Grubel (drums) and Clyde Beavers (rhythm guitar), along with RCA's Fantastic Bill Porter (engineer) and Leon Beaver (producer), recorded a classic, that still stands the test of time today.
The original recording was first released as KA$H Records # 1006. A few months later, it was leased to, and released by, Petal Records # 1012
These 45rpm single records are now collectors' items and will bring $50 to $150 each in good condition (if you can find one).
"I Got A Rocket In My Pocket" was later issued on several LPs and CDs in Europe and Australia over the years and now you can get it here. Please e-mail me for ordering info. The CDs are $20.00 and cassettes are $12.00 and includes S & H in USA. (please contact me for foreign orders)
The original masters were lost by the Petal Records, but we now have a digitally restored version, (thanks to photographer and record collector T. Fred Miller of Chattanooga, TN.) Now available on CD and cassette. |
